Sign my petition: A Youth Club for Oughtibridge

Oughtibridge is a wonderful place to live, but residents have told me that they feel our young people are being left behind. There is no dedicated youth club in the village, few places for teenagers to meet, and limited opportunities outside sport or church-led activities. As a result, many young people are experiencing isolation, spending more time on social media, and missing out on the community connections that help them thrive.

The pandemic's impact on young people has not disappeared. At the same time, residents have raised concerns about antisocial behaviour and a lack of positive activities for teenagers. The solution is not simply enforcement, but investment in youth provision.

We urge Sheffield City Council to work with schools, community groups and local volunteers to establish a dedicated youth club in Oughtibridge, giving young people a safe place to meet, learn, socialise and belong. Our young people deserve better, and the time to act is now.
