Sign my petition: A Hopper bus for Pilley and Tankersley

We, residents of Pilley and Tankersley, call on South Yorkshire Combined Mayoral Authority to introduce a Hopper Bus for Pilley and Tankersley.

The local transport network is “horrendous”, with unreliable services and timetables that do not work for school, college, hospital appointments or employment. Many people feel cut off from essential services, while older residents and those without a car face increasing isolation.

The solution is clear. We want a Hopper Bus that connects Pilley and Tankersley to Barnsley, Birdwell, Hoyland, High Green, Stocksbridge, Penistone and Fox Valley, while linking residents to train stations, hospitals, GP surgeries, colleges, shops and existing bus routes.

A Hopper Bus would reduce isolation, improve access to healthcare, education and jobs, help residents reach everyday services, and ensure our villages are properly connected to the wider South Yorkshire transport network. Smaller communities should not be left behind.
