MP hears residents’ ideas for change in Dodworth

Marie Tidball MP, the Member of Parliament for Penistone and Stocksbridge, recently met constituents from Dodworth, Gilroyd and the surrounding area to hear their priorities for improving their local community.

The evening opened with an introduction from Marie, about her work in the Dodworth area. Constituents then worked in groups to discuss local challenges and to identify solutions that could deliver positive change In Dodworth across Marie’s priority areas: health, transport, education, local businesses and high streets, and community spaces.

The meeting closed with a reflection from Marie about the key recommendations that she heard during discussions on the night. Some of these included improving children’s play spaces, tackling shoplifting and the need for a return of Post Office services to Dodworth.

Following the meeting, Marie will be writing up all the feedback she has received – both at the meeting and over email from those who were not able to attend – to formulate community priorities.
